Let’s be honest.....
If you're a MedExPRO grinding day after day, wondering why the phone isn’t ringing, why doctors aren’t referring, and why your bank account still looks like it did six months ago—you’re not alone. But you are stuck. And it’s time to stop pretending that another social media post or another “networking event” is going to magically fix it.
You didn’t invest in your education, get certified, and study medical conditions just to settle for three clients, no physician referrals, and a practice that feels more like a side hustle than a business. You became a Medical Exercise Specialist to bridge the gap—to change lives and get paid like the professional you are.
So why isn’t it working?
Because you’re likely missing the “Five Foundations of a Thriving Medical Exercise Practice”. Every stuck MedExPRO I coach is missing at least two. And the ones who turn it around? They master all five.
If I asked you to describe your practice in one sentence—who you serve, what you solve, and how you’re different—could you do it? If not, how can clients or physicians refer to you?
Clarity isn’t just a tagline. It’s the north star of your practice. Without it, you’re drifting.
Running around posting flyers and DMing chiropractors doesn’t make you strategic—it makes you desperate. Intentionality means setting goals and reverse-engineering the steps to hit them.
Start asking: “Is this action getting me closer to more qualified clients and stronger referral sources?” If the answer’s no, cut it.
Without practice and client management systems, you're winging it. And winging it doesn’t scale.
You need:
Systems make your practice look, feel, and perform like the professional operation it should be.
You want physician referrals? Start speaking their language.
That means clear, outcome-driven documentation.
That means progress notes.
That means reporting results, not just collecting payments.
Medical professionals refer to professionals who document and communicate. Period!!
Random social posts, Canva flyers, and occasional emails won’t cut it. Hope is not a marketing strategy.
You need a plan.
You need consistency.
You need to track what works, and ditch what doesn’t.
Throwing spaghetti against the wall and praying for leads? That’s what amateurs do.
If you’re serious about becoming the go-to MedExPRO in your area, ask yourself these five questions right now:
If you hesitated on more than one, YOU’RE STUCK—but you don’t have to stay there.
Prior to developing the Medical Exercise Specialist (MES) program, I built a successful sports medicine practice with multiple locations. My primary focus now, after 31 years of teaching the MES workshop is helping more MedExPROs build strong and successful practices. I’ve helped hundreds of MedExPROs get unstuck, scale their practices, secure physician referrals, and finally earn what their expertise deserves. But here’s the key: coaching only works if you actually follow through.
The right coach has already built the kind of success you want (building a successful practice)—and knows how to get you there faster than you ever could alone. If you're tired of spinning your wheels, you don't need more courses. You need a blueprint. You need accountability. You need real coaching.
